Customer Dies At Trail Road Waste Facility In Richmond

The City of Ottawa says a person has died after a “fatal incident” at the Trail Road Landfill on Saturday. 

No further details were shared about the incident which took place on August 20, and the victims name has not been released.  

“The Public Works Department sends its condolences to family, friends, and loved ones of the customer fatally injured in the incident. The Department has also provided supports to landfill staff onsite at the time,” said city employee Quentin Levesque in a memo to council. 

He added: “As the matter is currently under investigation with the Ministry of Labour, the Public Works Department cannot provide further comment at this time.”

The Trail Road Landfill facility is located in Richmond between Barrhaven and Manotick.
