St. Leonard Elementary School closes due to COVID-19 outbreak

St. Leonard Elementary School in Manotick has announced they will stay closed this week due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
The school declared an outbreak on March 30. According to the Ottawa Catholic School Board website as of April 1st, they are reporting three active COVID-19 cases among students.
The news comes comes at a time Ottawa Public Health says they are reviewing COVID-19 data in Ottawa schools. According to Dr. Vera Etches, other schools around Ottawa will open for learning on Tuesday. If a switch to remote learning happens, Etches says they will give parents and educators notice.
Schools in Peel however will close due to COVID-19 cases rising across the province.
A total of 10 schools and childcare centres in Ottawa are reporting an active COVID-19 outbreak.
